government              What is SES Résumé?

The Senior Executive Service, effective  July, 1979, was formed to ensure executive management of the government of the U.S.  is responsive to the needs, policies, and goals of the nation. To apply for an SES (Senior Executive Service) position, you are required to submit a federal SES résumé. Note: The SES résumé is significantly different from  résumés written for most GS positions. The SES resume must also be written so that your value as an executive is expressed. The law requires that the executive qualifications of each new appointee to the Senior Executive Service (SES) be certified by an independent Qualifications Review Board based on criteria established by the Office of Personnel Management.

At the core of the SES résumé, the evaluation and the final determinations are the ECQ's (The Executive Core Qualifications). (See V2W ECQ section).
